First Phase of “Bible to Schools” Project Concluded

With the blessings of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; and with support of Mr. Armen Ashotyan, Minister of Education and Science of Armenia; the Christian Education Center (CEC) of the Mother See, and the Armenia Bible Society, implemented the first phase of the “Bible to Schools” project, starting on October 22nd.

Within the project, meetings were held with over 1000 teachers teaching the subject Armenian Church History, in the secondary schools of the Syunik, Vayots Dzor, Kotayk, Armavir, Tavush, and Shirak regions. On that occasion they were given Holy Bibles.

On November 25th, His Grace Bishop Vardan Navasardyan, Director of the CEC, and Mr. Arshavir Gabujyan, Project Officer of the Armenia Bible Society, met with Minister Ashotyan, to summarize the activities of the first phase.

During the meeting, they reflected on the project effectiveness, successful process and noted that the project had inspired great enthusiasm among the participating teachers. The second phase of the project is scheduled to start in the spring of 2016.
