Feast of the Annunciation of the Holy Virgin Mary at the Mother See
On April 7, the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church celebrated the Feast of the Annunciation of the Holy Virgin Mary.
Rev. Fr. Mkrtich Karapetyan offered a Divine Liturgy in the Mother Cathedral. In his sermon, Father Mkrtich reflected on the nature of the Holy Virgin Mary, the humble and unique faith which became the crown and coronal of all virtues.
Following the Divine Liturgy, in the Vatche and Tamar Manoukian Library of the Mother See, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians met with the women working in the departments of the Mother See, on the occasion of the Feast of Annunciation of the Holy Virgin Mary.
Following opening remarks from His Eminence Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan, Director of External Relations and Protocol Department of Mother See, the Catholicos of All Armenians offered his fatherly blessings and best wishes to all the women on the occasion of the beautiful feast of Annunciation.
His Holiness spoke about the Holy Virgin Mary’s character and mission, urging the audience to reflect on the Virgin Mary’s virtuous personality which has inspired Armenian women for centuries, and has become a living example of humility and greatness for them. The Catholicos of All Armenians also stressed that in the present times when a decline of moral values is seen in the world, and the Homeland faces many challenges, the Armenian woman should not falter when facing difficulties but show a spirit of courage and sacrifice for the love of vibrancy, strength and happiness of the family, and for the sake of preserving national-domestic values.
The Catholicos of All Armenians also expressed his gratitude to the employees of the Mother See highlighting the importance of their service in successfully realizing the mission of the Church, and conveyed to them his appreciation and blessings, wishing them a peaceful and prosperous life.
