Eight Year Old Boy Charged with Blasphemy in Pakistan

Punjab Province – Pakistan: An eight year old Hindu boy has been charged with Blasphemy in the ultra conservative Rahim Yar Khan village in Punjab province for allegedly urinating on a madrassa wall. He has become the youngest person to charge with Blasphemy in the country. As per news reports, the child is under protective police custody whereas his family is under hiding.

Many Hindus have fled the village since a violent Muslim community attacked and destroyed a local temple in response to the bail granted to the eight year old. Several human rights activists have called for dropping charges against the boy for alleged

Pakistan over the years have become a torture hub for minority Hindus, Christians as well as Ahmadiyya Muslim communities. Several people have been accused and jailed for Blasphemy by radical Islamists.
