Turkey: His Al Holiness Bartholomew I the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople will attend Armenian Orthodox Liturgy at the Cathedral of Holy Cross located on the Akdamar Island, reports several media sources. Syriac Orthodox Metropolitan His Eminence Yusuf Cetin (Patriarchal Vicar of the Syriac Orthodox Church in Istanbul and Ankara) will also take part in the liturgy making the event a great occasion of Pan-Orthodox unity. Annual Liturgy is held on the Holy Island in the month of September. The information has been retrieved from the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Van Province.

A special concert will also take part immediately after the liturgy. Pan-Orthodox circles have welcomed the move and many of them consider the same to be a great example of Orthodox unity and brotherhood.
