Dannebohm Appointed to Decani Monastery Relief Fund Board of Directors

The Very Reverend Archimandrite Nektarios Serfes announced today that J. Basil Dannebohm, a student of Orthodox Christian Theology and business professional residing in Denver, Colorado has been appointed as Executive Assistant to the President of the Board of Directors for the Decani Monastery Relief Fund.

Based in Boise, Idaho, the Decani Monastery Relief Fund solicits financial contributions worldwide to support its work in Kosovo where resident Orthodox Christian monks distribute 100% of the funds directly for the benefit of Serbian individuals and families living in the war-ravaged communities of Kosovo-Metohija.
The fund supports six soup kitchens, one bakery, assists in providing daily lunches to four schools as well as shoes and clothing for youth of all ages.

Additionally the Decani Monastery Relief Fund provides 61 scholarships to the University of Northern Kosovo as well as scholarship assistance for Serbian youth attending Boise State University, and Hellenic College/Holy Cross Orthodox Theological Seminary.

Other important issues, needs and problems addressed by the organization include: refugee centers and camps; attending to the special needs of the elderly; paying electricity bills; providing firewood during winter months; financing necessary medical and surgical procedures; and helping to purchase farm equipment. The fund also purchases pigs for 200 families during the holidays.
J. Basil Dannebohm is a freelance writer, public relations and marketing consultant; and interactive management professional. Over the course of his career, Dannebohm has served on a number of boards and has been appointed to various committees. Mr. Dannebohm has been a featured guest on Ancient Faith Radio and his biography was showcased in three parts on the award winning website, Journey to Orthodoxy. He is continuing to discern his vocation and attends Assumption of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Denver, Colorado.
