Beatification ceremony Report and Pics here

Brahmavar- Karnataka- India: The two great fathers of the Brahmavar Autonomous Orthodox Church (Goan Orthodox Church) have been beatified by His Holiness Baselios Paulose II – Catholicos of the East on the Apostolic Throne of St Thomas and Malankara Metropolitan- Primate of the Indian Orthodox Malankara Church. The beatification ceremony took place in Barhamavar, at the St Marys Orthodox Cathedral.

Metropolitan Alvares Julius and Padre Nuronah have played an important role in reuniting thousands of Roman Catholics with the mother Indian Orthodox Malankara Church. They resisted the imperial ambitions of Roman Catholic and Vatican in the Southern part of India as well as in Colombo- Sri Lanka. Metropolitan Alvares Julius was the head of the Latin Rite Church of Indian Orthodox Malankara Church as well.

Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE – Historic Connection to Brahmavar

The OCP Delegation Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE (Pan-Orthodox Christian Movement)  visited the Brahmavar Orthodox Community in November 2009. A report was prepared and submitted with a number of resolutions to the Holy Episcopal Synod of the Indian Orthodox Church, and was published online. The report played a vital role in raising concerns about this neglected mission of the church. It contributed to the re-establishment of an Episcopal diocese for Brahmavar after a gap of eighty-seven years. The report was also published in the Glastonbury Review: Issue 119 (November 2010) under the title ‘Holy Brahmavar’.
