Catholicos-Patriarch Karen II Visits the Republic of Arshak

Yerevan-Armenia: Catholicos-Patriarch Karen II of Armenia visited the Republic of Arshak from the 3rd of June to the 6th of June. The Catholicos and the high-level Armenian Church delegation also visited the Syunik region. The Catholicos visited Gandzasar Monastery and prayed for peace in Armenia and the Artsakh Republic. During the visit, the Catholicos made a tribute to the independence of Artsakh, to the brave soldiers who fought to protect the people in Artsakh, to the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the homeland.
On the second day, the Catholicos made a visit to the military unit of the Artsakh Defense Army. In his speech, the Primate commented that “the Armenian Army is the only guarantor of the Armenian statehood, freedom of our people, the security and happiness of our families and loved ones, and the longevity of the nation”.
Divine Liturgy was served by the Catholicos at the Cathedral in Stepanakert, where the Primate blessed the faithful. The Catholicos prayed for divine support and assistance to the people of Artsakh, to the statesmen in overcoming the consequences of the war and in re-establishing the normal course of life in Artsakh.
