Catholicos of All Armenians Received Students of Paris and Marseille Armenian Colleges

Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin – July 2016

On 06 July, in the Mother See, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenia; received the students of the Paris ‘National’ and Marseille Colleges, accompanied by Mr. Sarkis Bedoian, France, benefactor of the Mother See.

His Holiness expressed joy on the occasion of the visit to the Homeland and the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, by the students of the two French schools. His Holiness expressed his appreciation to all those who engage in educating and rearing students, and contribute to the shaping of their national and patriotic nature.

Reflecting on patriotic education and the importance of patriotism, His Holiness expressed confidence that the students, while visiting Armenia, will have a good opportunity to learn about the reality of the homeland and the rich national-spiritual heritage.

“Homeland is the security and guarantee of the eternal existence of the Armenian people. A person without a homeland is like someone who does not have parents but the child of the Homeland is permanently protected, as the Homeland is ready to sponsor and open her arms before her own children. In terms of ethnicity, the Homeland is the biography of the nation’s children”, stated the Catholicos of All Armenians, and urged them to always appreciate the homeland and stay connected to it.

Conveying his Pontifical blessings to the students, His Holiness urged them to make every effort to become successful and exemplary Armenians, and become a good role model for future generations. His Holiness also urged the youth to effectively utilize the years of their studies, so that in the future, following the example of Mr. Sarkis Bedoian, they’ll be able to bring useful service to the nation, the country and their homeland.

During the meeting, two of the students gave recitations. At the conclusion, His Holiness answered questions from the students and teachers, which related to Pope’s visit to Armenia, the Armenian Church’s mission and current activities.
