Catholicos Baselios Paulose II Bans Firework Display at Orthodox Church Festivals

Kerala- India: Kerala- India: Following a national tragedy at the Kollam Temple (Kerala State) fire incident, His Holiness Baselios Marthoma Paulose II – Catholicos on the Apostolic Throne of St. Thomas and Malankara Metropolitan – Primate of the Indian Orthodox Malankara Church has banned fireworks from all Orthodox church festivals. A statement was issued by the office of the Catholicos asking faithful and leaders to refrain from displaying fireworks during festivals and church processions.
Catholicos urged his faithful to extend their help, support & prayers to the victims of the fire accident. The Prelate extended his prayers and condolences to the family members of the departed ones.
