Catholicos Baselios Dydimos I to be laid to rest at Mount Tabore Monastery

 Kerala/Kottayam: The mortal remains of Baselios Dydimos U (former Catholicos of theEast and Metropolitan of Malankara) who entered eternal rest last day will be laid to rest at the Monastery of Mount Tabore on 28th Wednesday 2014.

Homage will be paid to the mortal remains today at the Catholicate Palace at Kottayam which is the headquarters of the Indian Malankara Orthodox Church. On Wednesday the mortal remains will be transferred to the Mount Tabore Monastery at Pathanapuram to be laid rest in a specially prepared tomb. Funeral service will begin at 11 am.

Baselios Marthoma Didymus I was consecrated as bishop on August 24, 1966. He was the seventh Catholicos and also the 20th Malankara Metropolitan of the Church on the lineage of St Thomas the Apostle.
