Chisinau. The newly established NGO Bulgarian Community in Moldova – Bessarabian Bulgarians has required for at least one of the two Bulgarian churches in Chisinau to be returned to the Bulgarian community and the services to be in Bulgarian language, said Simeon Zhelyapov, chairperson of the organisation, in an interview with FOCUS News Agency.
The organisation would ask the Bulgarian government and the Bulgarian church for assistance.

“There are two Bulgarian churches in Chisinau, built by Bulgarians, which have been expropriated and the services are done in Moldovan language. At the moment, the churches are not connected to the Bulgarian diaspora in any aspect. We want the Bulgarian government and the Bulgarian Orthodox Church to assist us, we also address the Moldovan authorities – to return us at least one of the two churches in Chisinau,” Zhelyapov remarked.
