A Belarusian stamp block including an image of three Orthodox churches and icons has been named one of the top 10 most beautiful stamps in the world, reports katolik-gomel.by.

The results of the most beautiful stamp contest were announced in Austria. The Belarusian stamp block taking 6th place was released in honor of the 1,025th anniversary of the Diocese of Polotsk. It was released in October 2017, and its solemn cancelation took place at the St. Sophia Cathedral in Polotsk.

The project was prepared in cooperation with the Belarusian Orthodox Church and the Minsk Theological Seminary. The block includes three stamps featuring three Orthodox churches—St. Sophia Cathedral and the Church of the Transfiguration in Potolsk, and the Church of the Annunciation in Vitebsk—which are surrounded by icons of Christ, the Theotokos, St. John the Baptist, and angels.

Meanwhile, a Georgian stamp with a picture of the medieval Besleti Bridge of the Holy Queen Tamar, dating to the 12th century, has been entered into the PostEurop contest for the best stamps, with this year’s theme being bridges, reports Blagovest-Info.

Cast your vote here. Winners will be announced on October 3.
