Azerbaijani Military Blocks Armenian Orthodox Faithful From Visiting Dadivank Monastery

Kalbajar-Azerbaijan: Since May 2, 2021, the Azerbaijani military has blocked the visits of Armenian Orthodox Faithful to Dadivank Monastery in Kalbajar District of Azerbaijan, reports Forum 18. The block is the force due to the spread of the coronavirus as per the Azeri military sources. However, Bishop, Vrtanes Abrahamia of Nagorno-Karabak of the Armenian Orthodox Church stated that “they do not want Dadivank to function as a Christian monastery, but they can’t say directly that they don’t want this,”. So they use technical issues.”

The Monastery is home to six monks and it is presently protected by the Russian peacekeepers.
