I have to say that this is the best letter of its kind I have ever read. The affirmation of the history of the Church of the East plus the kind words directed toward Catholic prelates is well done.
It should be pointed out that the Catholic Church, by affirming the Council of Ephesus, does in principle approve of autocephaly, even if has not done so in practice. Perhaps now is the time to communicate with it to encourage positive developments in this area.
Our blessed Bishop, Mar Awa Rowell, has written with a divine wisdom. I should be the last to express my opinion on such a delicate matter, let alone on such an amazing letter. This letter is answering a complicated question in a simple yet clear way so that everyone can understand. I am confident and comfortable to see such matters are dealt with such clarity of mind.
