Armenian Pontiff Receives Minister of Agriculture

On February 9, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, received Mr. Sergo Karapetian, the newly appointed Minister of Agriculture for the Republic of Armenia. The Armenian Pontiff extended his blessings to the newly appointed Minister wishing him success in his important service.
His Holiness noted that agriculture was one of the major sectors of the countries economy, stressing the necessity of addressing the concerns of farmers so they remain connected to the Homeland and not leave for the sake of finding new jobs abroad.
Mr. Karapetian presented upcoming projects and plans through which he proposes to resolve the issues in a phased approach.
The Armenian Pontiff and the Minister discussed the level of cooperation between the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and the Ministry. His Holiness appointed a representative from the Mother See to increase the efficiency of joint collaboration
