Armenian Orthodox Church to hold blessing of the Holy Muron in September 2015

Yerevan: The Armenian Apostolic Church will hold blessing of the Holy Muron on 27th September 2015. The decision was made during the the recent session of the Supreme Spiritual Council held at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. The Sessions were presided by His Holiness Supreme Catholicos-Patriarch Karekin II 0f All Armenia and Chaired by His Beatitude Archbishop Nourhan Manougian – the Armenian Patriarch of Jerusalem.
Catholics-Patriarch Karekin II has instructed the special committee to make all necessary preparations for the great and holy event. His Grace Bishop Arshak Kachatryan, Chancellor of the Mother See; and His Grace Bishop Bagrat Galstanyan, Director of the Office on Ecclesiastical Liturgical Issues of the Mother See will lead the committee. Blessing services of the Holy Muron will be held at the Mother See with the participation of several Orthodox Prelates and thousands of faithful.
The 2015 also marks the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, one of worst crimes committed against humanity. Several preparations are also underway to mark the 100th anniversary of the Armenian genocide.
