WASHINGTON – His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of America invited by the Presidential Inauguration Committee and representing the Greek Orthodox Church in America, attended early this morning the special Inauguration Day Prayer Service at St John’s Episcopal Church in Washington’s Lafayette Square. President Donald J. Trump and Vice President Mike Pence, together with their families and a select group of guests were in attendance.

Shortly after, Archbishop Demetrios, accompanied by Fr. Alexander Karloutsos were seated at the prominent dignitaries platform at the U.S. Capitol from where they attended the Presidential Inauguration and the swearing in of the 45th President of the United States Donald J. Trump.

Tomorrow, Saturday, Jan. 21, His Eminence will participate in the National Prayer Service for the new President at Washington’s National Cathedral.
