ANNOUNCEMENT: Semestral Pastoral-Missionary Conferences In The Archdiocese Of Bucharest

The Press Office of the Romanian Patriarchate informs us:

From 8 – 9 June 2011, the spring semestral pastoral-missionary conferences will take place in the Archdiocese of Bucharest, with the theme: “2011 – Homage Year of the Holy Baptism and of the Holy Wedding in the Romanian Patriarchate”. According to the decisions of the Holy Synod, the following sub-themes will be treated within these pastoral-missionary conferences:

– Service of the Holy Sacrament of Baptism – theological existential significance;
– Sacrament of the Wedding in the patristic and contemporary theology and
– Non-Orthodox practices concerning the celebration of the Baptism and of the Wedding.

Wednesday, 8 June 2011, 10.00 hours, the pastoral-missionary conference with the priests of the deaneries I, II and III of Bucharest, North Ilfov and South Ilfov will take place in “Patriarch Teoctist” Aula Magna of the Patriarchal Palace, under the chairmanship of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel. The charitable priests from Bucharest and from the county of Ilfov will participate too.

At 8.00 o’clock, to open with the pastoral-missionary conference His Grace Varlaam Ploieşteanul, Assistant Bishop to the Patriarch will celebrate the Divine Liturgy and a Te Deum at the church of Saint Spiridon the New of Bucharest, assisted by a group of priests and deacons.

Thursday, 9 June 2011, 10.00 hours, the semestral pastoral-missionary conference of the priests of the deaneries of Ploieşti, Câmpina, Vălenii de Munte and Urlaţi will take place in the Amphitheatre Room of Nicolae Iorga Cultural House. The charitable priests of the county of Prahova will participate too.

At 8.00 o’clock, the Divine Liturgy and the Te Deum will be also celebrated in the Monastery parish church of Vălenii de Munte.
