The Syrian Orthodox Church in Europe and its missions (France, Cameroon, Brazil and Pakistan) give thanks to God for such important discoveries on the Christian presence in India, following the preaching of Saint Thomas, before the various waves of immigrations of foreign Christians.
We also thank His Holiness the Catholicos, as custodian of the most authentic Malankare Tradition, for highlighting the contribution of the indigenous Princes. It is indeed of particular importance at this time when some, probably influenced, would be tempted by violent actions against Christians and other Communities, which also constitute National Identity, in the name of a certain fundamentalism. Hindu.
The Syro-Orthodox Francophone Church of Mar Thoma prays for the archaeological discoveries to establish ever more clearly the presence very early in the history of India of the Christian Communities of Nazarenes. This is important both to confirm the already established apostolicity of the local Church and for peace between communities in Malankare as in other regions.
Such is the look I have from France on the declaration of His Holiness. That is my reflection. Coming from a look foreign to Indian affairs, perhaps this look, this reflection will seem erroneous to some. If this is the case, I will be grateful to them for correcting me so that I can refine and analyze my analysis.
Thanking you for your patience and your attention, your fraternally in Christ, our Lord. Aloho m’barekh (God bless you)!

As per Church history, Saint Thomas the Apostle reached India and preached there long before the other denominations arrived. ”The ancient Orthodox Church of Malankara was established by St. Thomas the Apostle of Christ. The Primate of the Malankara Orthodox Church (Orthodox Syrian Church of the East) is the Chief of the Office of the Catholicate of the East, who is seated on the Apostolic Throne of St. Thomas. The Primate is also the Chief Custodian of the Malankara Nasranis”. The word Orthodox was added much later, however, the church known Church of The East is the same church which followed the teachings of Saint Thomas the Apostle and that is The Holy Apostolic Assyrian Church of The East whose presence continues in its faithful and even the faithful known as Saint Thomas christians historically were part of the Church of The East long before the words Syrian and Orthodox were introduced. Hence, personally, I do not agree with these claims which are mixing historical facts with false claims. Something not Christian like is being planned.
