Pope Tawadros, Orthodox Delegation II Laud President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda

Kampala-Uganda: Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and the primate of the Coptic Orthodox Church lauded President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda for the support provided to the Church. The message of the Pope was delivered by a delegation of Orthodox Christian bishops (Eastern and Oriental) who were on a visit to the Presidential State House. Metropolitan Makarios of Kenya and the care taker of the Ugandan Orthodox Church, Archbishop Silvestros of Gulu and other prelates were part of the delegation.

The delegation thanked the NRM government and they hope to extend the cooperation further. They thanked the President for the support received following the demise of Metropolitan Yona Lwanga of Uganda. The president in return conveyed his condolences as well assured his support for the development projects initiated by the Church.
