Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Winds Up Ukraine Visit

Kiev-Ukraine: On the 24th of August 2021, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I departed to Constantinople from the Kiev, the capital city of Ukraine. Metropolitan Epiphanius, the head of the Orthodox Church in Ukraine (OCU) and high-level delegation accompanied the Patriarch to the airport. During his visit the Patriarch took part in several important meetings with the government officials and with the Bishops of the OCU.
The Patriarch assured that any doubts on the validity of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) remain baseless during the long sermon served at the St. Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv on the 22nd of August 2021. At the same time he urged believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) for peaceful coexistence in the country.
