ARCHBISHOP CHRYSOSTOMOS OF CYPRUS ANNOUNCES HE IS SUFFERING FROM CANCER
+Lord have Mercy+
In a recent interview with philenews posted on Romfea, His Beatitude Archbishop Chrysostomos II of Cyprus spoke for the first time about cancer he has been battling since the beginning of the summer.
The Archbishop says he wants everyone to know his struggle.
“There are two tumors on my liver. They cut my intestine, cancer left, they rejoined it, and they told me that what remains is to have chemotherapy in order that, in case any cancerous cells left and went somewhere else, they’ll be killed by the chemotherapy, but also that the two tumors on the liver will shrink,” His Beatitude explained.
He will travel to London soon to undergo laparoscopic surgery to remove the two tumors from his liver.
The archbishop also explained that from the day he received his diagnosis, he began to address some things in his life and ministry that had previously gone ignored. He doesn’t want to leave any problems behind for the Church if he dies suddenly, Abp. Chrysostomos explained.
May God have mercy upon him and grant him a speedy recovery!
