Patriarch Ignatius Aphrem II visits Mor Mattai Monastery : Meets Governor of Duhok

Kurdistan- Dohuk-Iraq: His Holiness Patriarch Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem II visited Mor Mattai Monastery. He spoke about the new year saying: “we have left behind us a year full of misery and grief, welcome this new year with hearts full of hope. We should thus keep away from despair and remain hopeful of a brighter future”. At the end of the service, he prayed at the shrine of the saints.
The Patriarch visited the Governor of Duhok Mr. Ferhad Atroshi in the town hall. They held a press conference on the situation of the displaced families in Iraq.
Later the Patriarch celebrated the Divine Liturgy (Holy Qurobo) at St. Mary Assyrian Church in Duhok in the presence of the displaced families from Mosul or the towns of the Nineveh Plains.
