OCP Society Honours Dr Christine Chaillot – the world renowned pan-orthodox activist with the first ever Defender of Orthodoxy Award

India/Kerala/Kottayam: OCP Society honored Christine Chaillot with the first ever Defender of Orthodoxy Award in a humble and private event held at Kottayam on 16th of September 2014. The Award has been constituted by the OCP Foundation. Dr. Christine was chosen for the award for her outstanding contributions in the field of Pan-Orthodox dialogue, especially between the Eastern and Oriental Orthodox Churches.
Christine was presented with the defender of Orthodoxy Award honored by Fr Dr. K M George. She was presented with OCP Icon of St Gregorious of Parumala by Chairman K C Jacob. A traditional Kerala lamp was given by Dr. Mariama Jacob (OCP Executive Council Delegate).
In return, Dr. Christine thanked OCP Society for the humble honor. She spoke on the history and importance of dialogue between Eastern and Oriental Orthodox Churches urged to work more for pan-orthodox unity. She stressed on the in-depth similarity of the pan-orthodox activities initiated by herself and the OCP Society as well asked to support and build a working relationship with the Assyrian Churches of the East.
The function was held in a private venue with the participation of the well-wishers of OCP Society. Dr. Christine became the first recipient to receive the first-ever Defender of Orthodoxy Award constituted by the OCP Foundation.

Dr. Christine is truly a Pan-Orthodox legend, an outstanding personality who has a lifetime experience in Pan-Orthodox dialogue for unity.
She has served as the secretary of the association “Dialogue between the Orthodox Church and the Oriental Orthodox Churches.” She is an expert on Oriental Orthodox Churches, have made extensive studies and have published numerous works. Dr. Christine has widely traveled to the Oriental Orthodox sectors and deeply understood their life, theology, and spirituality.
Her works have been a great eye-opener for the whole world on the depth of Oriental Orthodox Spirituality and theology. She has made enormous contributions in the field of pan-Orthodox dialogue between the Eastern and Oriental Orthodox Churches. She propagates the need for global Orthodox conciliar unity.
