OCP Secretary Meets Patriarch Abune Mathias of Ethiopia: 

India/Kerala: On the 1st of February 2014, Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE Society Delegation received the representatives of various Oriental Orthodox Churches at Samanvaya Ecumenical of the Indian Malankara Orthodox Church. The Oriental delegation was in Kerala for the annual Oriental Orthodox-Roman Catholic Dialogue.

The OCP delegation as lead by Dr. M Kurien Thomas (renowned Orthodox historian in India) and also consisted of Varghese John (OCP Associate and Oriental Orthodox Specialist), Subin Varghese (OCP Vice-Chairman), Ajesh Phillip (OCP Delegate & Chief Project Coordinator- MARP), Eldho Varghese and Aby Vannilam. Ajesh introduced OCP delegation members and gave a brief introduction to the activities of the Society.

Urge for Permanent Oriental Orthodox Secretariat

Dr. Kurien Thomas addressed the gathering and urged for Oriental Orthodox Unity and creating a permanent secretariat for administration needs. Archbishop Nareg responded that several steps are being implemented to bring the Heads of Oriental Orthodox Churches. Certain events are also expected to take place in Addis Ababa in the year 2015. The Archbishop also requested prayers for the realization of the great dream.

Oriental Orthodox delegation consisted of prelates; Bishop Daniel  & Bishop Barnaba of Coptic Orthodox Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa, Bishop Hovakim Manukiyan of the Mother See of Armenia, Archbishop Nareg Alemezian of the Armenian Orthodox Church in Lebanon, Fr Daniel of Ethiopia Orthodox Church and other dignitaries.

As a token of love, all dignitaries were presented with the icon of St Gregorious of Parumala as well as specially designed international brochure of OCP Society. On behalf of the Oriental Churches Archbishop Nareg presented Subin Varghese with a special CD made on Orthodox monasticism.

Metropolitan Gregorious Gabriel of Trivandrum, Fr Abraham Thomas and Joice Thottakadu (Marthoman TV) were present for the occasion. Fr Abraham played the crucial role in arranging the meeting cooperating with the OCP Secretariat.
