Public prayer for spiritual unification is to be held in Bulgaria’s St. Alexander Nevski cathedral

Sofia. A public prayer for spiritual unification and moral transfiguration of the Bulgarian people is to be held in Saint Alexander Nevski cathedral on the occasion of today’s Transfiguration of Jesus, announced the press center of the Holy Synod.

The public prayer is to commence at 6:30 p.m. local tome and it comes after a request from a group of Orthodox Christians to Patriarch Neofit of Bulgaria.

During the festive liturgy in the metropolitan bishop’s cathedral in the northern city of Ruse Patriarch Neofit is to beg God for the peace of the Bulgarian people. After the liturgy Patriarch Neofit is to hold a memorial service for late Patriarch Maxim, as it turn nine months since his death.
