Consecration of the church of Saints Three Hierarchs – Fundeni

The children of Fundeni district of Bucharest will have a new kindergarten. This one is named “Child’s Soul” and belongs to the parish of “Saints Three Hierarchs – Fundeni”. The kindergarten was consecrated today, 1 June 2012, by His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church.

The Primate of the Romanian Orthodox Church emphasised in the speech delivered the importance of the kindergarten in the children’s education.

“We want to say, on this great day of 1 June preceding the feast of the Parents and Children, how precious a good education in the family and kindergarten is. Many parents cannot care enough for their children because of their jobs and this is why the kindergarten helps them. The seven years we often hear of are the most important ones for the formation of the character and for getting the essential knowledge for life. These are the years when the children’s souls are formed. It is as if something is printed for the first time on a wax plate. The child must be paid special attention. The kindergarten has become a missionary work now, because a kindergarten, especially a Christian one which combines scientific education with spiritual life forms little angels beloved by their parents, by the Church and future citizens both of the earthly homeland and of the heavenly one. If these baptised children become good Christians they will be good citizens of Paradise too, of the Kingdom of Heaven. Thus, we see the family’s vocation to give birth to future saints. The kindergarten is the most serious school of our Romanian education”, also said His Beatitude, as Trinitas Radio station informs us.

Parish priest Gheorghe Pop was made iconom stavrofor for the efforts made for building this settlement, while those who helped him were awarded the Diploma of Honour of the image of Saints Constantine and Helen, the Emperors.

To end with, His Beatitude Daniel offered the kindergarten an icon of the Mother of God with Infant Jesus in her arms and two icons of the saints protectors of the kindergarten: Saint Hierarch Nicholas and Saint Great Martyr George, as well as a Bible, the book “Symbol of Faith for Children”, “Call of the Faith” magazine and the book entitled “Let us pray” – an interpretation of the Divine Liturgy for children, by Olga Greceanu, according to “Lumina” newspaper. “The Child’s Soul” kindergarten of Fundeni will accommodate 100 children and will begin its activity this autumn. The building is modern equipped which fact will ensure the good development of the educational activity.
