Disagreements in foundation of Istanbul’s Armenian Church Continue

ISTANBUL. – Disagreements in the foundation of the greatest Armenian Church of Istanbul continue and have reached the court.
One of the members of the church foundation claims that foundation administration is not working transparently and is hiding the amounts gained from the church property territories on Beyoglu and Istiklal streets in Istanbul downtown, Turkish Radikal reports.
In its turn, the church administration blames foundation members claiming they receive threats from them.
Head of the church elective committee Ara Isitman told police in April that there were threats during elections. Besides many people, not belonging to the district, participated in the church elections. Isitman filed a lawsuit against 604 members of the Armenian community accusing them of rigging the elections.
