2012 YEAR OF THE ARMENIAN BOOK

11/13/2011

On Sunday 13 November 2011, following the Holy Liturgy, His Holiness Aram I inaugurated the 33rd Annual Armenian Book Fair. The fair exhibits major works published in Armenia and the Diaspora on language, music, arts, history and literature.

In his message, Catholicos Aram I said, “the titles exhibited in this tent are evidence of a living language responsive to current thought. As I watch students and parents buying books, I remain assured that along with the Armenian schools the Armenian family is the guardian of our rich intellectual heritage. He then continued, “UNESCO has declared Yerevan as 2012 City of Armenian Books; I am declaring 2012 the Year of Armenian Books for all our people.”
