200th Anniversary of the founding of Mart Maryam Cathedral of the Assyrian Church of the East in India

His Grace Mar Paulus Benjamin, Bishop of the Diocese of Eastern USA visited south India at the invitation of His Beatitude Dr Mar Aprem, Metropolitan of India and Patriarchal Vicar. His Grace’s visit is in connection with the 200th anniversary of the founding of the Mart Maryam Cathedral of the Assyrian Church of the East in Thrissur, Kerala. This church is the oldest church in the town.
His Grace visited the Mar Timotheus Charitable Hospital, the Mar Timotheus Memorial Orphanage along with the worksite of the future Convent named in memory of His Holiness the late Mar Dinkha IV, Catholicos-Patriarch. His Grace consecrated the Holy Qurbana at the mentioned Cathedrala on 23 August with the participation of His Beatitude the Metropolitan, His Grace Bishop Mar Awgin Kuriakose and a large number of priests, deacons, nuns and church faithful.
