The Court Cancelled the Round-the-Clock Arrest of Metropolitan Theodosius of Cherkasy and Kaniv

Kyiv – Ukraine: On December 20, 2023, the Cherkasy court cancelled the round-the-clock house arrest of Metropolitan Theodosius of Cherkasy and Kaniv, leaving only night arrest. After the hearing, the metropolitan announced it to the believers who had gathered to support the archpastor. This is reported by the Information and Education Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church with reference to the YouTube channel Cherkaskyi Blahovisnyk.

The administrator of the Cherkasy Diocese thanked God, the Most Holy Theotokos, and Saint Nicholas and said that the court had cancelled the round-the-clock arrest and he would be able to return to ministry.

‘We have gone through these eight months together with you. We worried, prayed, sorrowed, and now we are rejoicing together’, said Metropolitan Theodosius.

Immediately after the trial, the hierarch and the faithful went to the Archangel Michael Cathedral to hold a thanksgiving molieben before the relics of Venerable Macarius of Kaniv.
