The Press Office of the Romanian Patriarchate informs us: On 28 February 2013, the working session of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church began at the Patriarchal Residence under the chairmanship of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel. After the session was opened, chaired by His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel, the election of the titular hierarch for the vacancy of Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Buzau and Vrancea began. Out of the two candidates assigned by the Metropolitan Synod of the Metropolitanate of Muntenia and Dobrodgea in consultation with the Eparchial Assembly of the Archdiocese of Buzau and Vrancea, the Holy Synod elected, by secret vote, His Grace Ciprian Campineanul, Assistant Bishop to the Patriarch, for the vacancy of Archbishop of Buzau and Vrancea with 41 votes out of 47 validly expressed
