Berlin- Germany: Bishop Serovbe Isakhanyan of Germany received Metropolitan Abraham Stephanos of the UK, Europe, and Africa on 07 November 2023 at St. Sahak – St. Mesrop Cathedral, Köln, Germany. The visit of Metropolitan Abraham Stephanos was part of a hierarchical visit to Germany. H.E. Bishop Serovpé Isakhanyan received the delegation from Malankara Orthodox Church alongside Fr. Vahridsch Baghdasaryan, Fr. Narek Amiryan, Deacon Sayad Boyacian, and Mrs. Shakeh Zeynalian, the Chairwoman of the Cologne parish and Member of the Diocesan Advisory Board.

The visit commenced with a joint prayer at the St. Sahak-St. Mesrop Diocesan Cathedral, setting a spiritual tone for the ensuing discussions. Leaders and representatives from both sister churches engaged in a constructive dialogue, addressing various topics of mutual interest and concern.

During the discussions, the delegation from the Malankara Orthodox Church expressed solidarity and offered prayerful support to the Armenian Orthodox faithful facing challenges in the Nagorno-Karabakh region. The leaders emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in facing shared difficulties.

Accompanying Metropolitan Stephanos were Fr. Varghese T. Mathew, Diocesan Secretary, and priests from Germany – Fr. Rohith Skariah Georgy, Fr. Jibin Thomas Abraham, and Mr. Libin Varghese, Member of the Diocesan Council. The collaborative spirit was evident as both delegations highlighted the significance of continued cooperation and the strengthening of their sisterly relationship.

The meeting between Metropolitan Stephanos and Bishop Serovpé underscored the commitment to further collaboration and mutual understanding between the Malankara Orthodox Church and the Armenian Orthodox Church in Germany. The leaders affirmed their dedication to working together on shared initiatives and fostering a bond of unity among their congregations.
