Works on the conservation and restoration of frescoes in Orthodox Serb monasteries in Kosmet begin on April 23 and Belgrade company Koto, chosen by UNESCO at a tender, will be in charge.
Works on the conservation and restoration of frescoes in Orthodox Serb monasteries in Kosmet begin on April 23 and Belgrade company Koto, chosen by UNESCO at a tender, will be in charge.
The company’s general manager, Zlatan Tomić, said that works on the frescoes in the Pec Patriarchate and the Dečani Monastery will ensue first, to be followed by those in the monastery of Gračanica.
The restoration works cost USD 500,000 and will be financed by UNESCO. This significant task has been entrusted to experts from the Republican and Provincial Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments respectively, said Tomic.
