Russia’s Federal Agency for State Property Management has transferred the Prilutsk Monastery of our Savior in Vologda to the ownership of the Vologda Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church, reports Interfax-Religion.

The architectural ensemble of the monastery (1714), which is an object of cultural heritage of federal importance, includes fortified walls, four towers, cells, a belltower, the holy gate with a gateway church, the storehouses with a gallery, cellars, All Saints’ Church, and a water tower, reads the decree, published by the diocesan website.

It was decided to transfer the monastery complex to the Church in connection with the diocese’s application on the basis of the federal law of 2010, “On the Transfer of State or Municipal-Owned Property Designed for Religious Purposes to Religious Organizations”.
