India/Kerala/Thiruvanathapuram: Veteran Congress leader and Favorite Son of Indian Orthodox Oommen Chandy has been sworn in as Kerala’s 21st Chief Minister.
Oommen Chandy was also the Chief Minister of the state during the years 2004-2006.

Senior Congress leader Oommen Chandy was sworn in as the 21st chief minister of Keralaon Wednesday at the Raj Bhavan in Thiruvananthapuram. Along with Chandy, six floor leaders of the United Democratic Front coalition were administered the oath of office and secrecy by Governor R S Gavai at the lawns of the Raj Bhavan.

TM Jacob (Syrian Orthodox Church in India) has been sworn in as the minister for Food and Civil Supplies.

Saju Paul, Chev. Dr. T. U Kuruvilla, Benny Behnanan and Raju Abraham who are also members of the Syrian Orthodox Church in India has also secured positions in the Kerala Assembly Elections 2011 as MLA’s (Members of Legislative Assembly).

The UDF unseated the Communist Party of India-Marxist-led Left Democratic Front by securing a thin majority of 72 seats in the 140-member House after April 13 Assembly polls.
