UOC Primate Presided Over Festivities Dedicated to 210th Anniversary of Kharkiv Diocese

On October 3-4 His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr made a two-day archpastoral visit to the Diocese of Kharkiv.
The purpose of the visit was celebration of the 210th anniversary of establishment of the Diocese of Kharkiv.
On Saturday, October 3, the plane by which the UOC Primate and the accompanies persons flew, landed at the airport of Kharkiv.
During the day the planned meeting of Metropolitan Volodymyr with the city head of Kharkiv Mykhailo Dobkin took place.
The same day in the evening at the large hall of the Lysenko Kharkiv Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre the Solemn Academy and festive concert were held.
Alongside with the clergy taking part in the festivities the governor of Kharkiv region Arsen Avakov, regional council chairman Serhiy Chernov and Kharkiv city mayor Mykhailo Dobkin were taking part in the celebrations.
During the festivities the greeting telegram of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia was read out.
For the services to the Holy Church His Beatitude bestowed the order of the Venerable Nestor the Chronicler, 1st degree on regional governor Arsen Avakov.
In his turn, the chief of the region conferred state distinctions – the order “For Merits” of the 2nd degree on the Vicar of the Diocese of Kharkiv, Archbishop Onuphry of Izyum and the order “For Merits” of the 3rd degree on the diocesan secretary, archpriest Mikhayil Kot.
On Sunday, April 4, at the Cathedral of the Holy Annunciation of Kharkiv His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr conducted the Divine Liturgy.
Concelebrating to His Beatitude were the hierarchs and the clergymen from Russia and Ukraine.
After the divine service the sacred procession was held starting from the Cathedral to the Holy Protection Monastery, where the thanksgiving prayer service was performed.
