UOC Primate Made Archpastoral Visit to Diocese of Rivne

On Thursday, September 10, His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr made archpastoral visit to the Diocese of Rivne.

First the Archpastor called to the skete of the Holy Righteous Anna in the St. Nicholas Horodok Convent, situated in the village of Onyshkivtsi, Dubensky district, Rivne region.

Waiting on the Archpastor’s arrival at the convent were the ruling bishop of the Diocese of Rivne Archbishop Varfolomiy, Mother Superior of the convent, hegumeness Mykhayila (Zayets), the nuns and parishioners.

Thereafter His Beatitude went down to the well, where he had a drink of water from the spring, and then aspersed those present with it.

The skete is developing from year to year – the new buildings are being built, both the nuns’ cells and utility premises, the number of nuns growth, by now they are about 30 persons.

And today the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church blessed the one of such buildings, the living premises.

Hegumeness Mykhayila also accompanied the Primate through the territory of the skete and told about the state of affairs in the monastery.

In recognition of the labors undertaken on the church filed the Primate bestowed the right of wearing pectoral cross on Mother Superior.

Then Metropolitan Volodymyr visited the Convent of the Holy Protection in the town of Goshcha, Rivne region.

At the entrance to the main church of the abode the Archpastor and the accompanying persons were welcomed by Mother Superior of the convent, hegumeness Irina (Sachulk).

In the church His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr blessed the nuns of the convent and the faithful with the small icons of the Mother of God of Pochayiv.

Besides for the services to the Holy Church the Primate conferred on the convent’s superior the jubilee order of “450 years of Translation of the Wonderworking Pochayiv Icon of the Mother of God to Volyn”.

The last item on the schedule of the Primate’s stay in the Diocese of Rivne was the Holy Trinity Convent of Korets.

Having called to the Church if the Holy Trinity, His Beatitude Metropolitan bowed unto the wonderworking icon of the Mother of God “The Warrantress of the Sinful”.

At the end, the Archpastor blessed the nuns, the students of the theological school and the faithful with the small icons of the Mother of God of Pochayiv.
