Unidentified attacker throw explosive device to window of the Orthodox Church

Vladimir, December 7, Interfax – Attacker threw a self-made explosive device to a window of the Orthodox Church at Vladimir State University, press service of the Federal Security Service Directorate for the Vladimir Region told Interfax on Monday.

The incident took place at about 04:05 in the morning last Sunday. According to the preliminary estimations, yield of the device was about 50 grams in TNT equivalent. No people were killed or injured, the church building is slightly damaged.

The press service did not confirm the information spread earlier in the media that an extremist leaflet was thrown to the church together with the device.

Officials of the Vladimir Region Interior Ministry, the Federal Security Service Directorate and Ministry of the Emergency Situations worked at the site. They prepare a facial composite of the suspect and conduct other investigative actions, the question of instigating proceedings for hooliganism (Article 213.2 Russia’s Criminal Code) is considered.
