Ukrainian Orthodox Church to Skip the Visit of Ecumenical Patriarch

Kyiv-Ukraine: Metropolitan Anthony of Borispol and Brovary, the Chancellor of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate), stated that there would be no representatives of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church at events attended by Patriarch Bartholomew.
“We do not yet have an official program of the Turkish guest’s stay (in Ukraine). But what we can say at once is that we are against his arrival. This is due to the fact that Patriarch Bartholomew is personally responsible for what is happening in Ukraine in recent years. This is the seizure of our temples, this is the beating of our believers. A lot of evil has been brought”. stated Metropolitan Anthony. “Hence representative of the UOC will take part in any of the events where Patriarch Bartholomew will be present” concluded Met. Antony.
Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew is scheduled to take part in the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence in August 2021.
