Turkey to restore another Armenian Church

Agency of Istanbul 2010 – European Capital of Culture began the process of restoration in Surp Vorodman Chuch in Kumkapi, Istanbul.
According to the report of Internet Haber web site, Agency of Istanbul 2010 – European Capital of Culture, has initiated reconstraction works in Surp Hach and Surp Vorvots Vorodman churchs which were designed by Armenian architects Kirkor Amira Balyan and Devlet Garabet and which was opened for religious service in September 14, 1828.
It is reported that after the reconstruction project, Armenian chruch will be able to serve for cultural activities. The restoration works in the building will be held upon the permission of the building owner and currently abandoned church will be turned into a cultural center.
