Tonsure of a Small Schema in Saki

On March 13, with the blessing of Metropolitan Sawa a tonsure according to the rite of Small Schema of hierodeacon Marcin (Ostapkiewicz), took place in the monastery of St. Dymitr Solunsky in Saki. Newly tonsured monk was named to the memory of St. Ephrem. Ephrem the Syrian.

Brother Ephrem entered the monastery on February 20, 2004. On November 8, 2005 he accepted the tonsure of Rassophore. One year later he was ordered a deacon by Bishop Gregory (Bishop of Bielsk). Act of tonsure was received from monastery hieromonk Tymoteusz (Sawczuk).

Monastery in Saki was founded in 2001 as a religious house. On March 9, this year it was raised to a monastery. Currently there are 5 monks and 2 novices in the monastery.
