In traditional Bulgarian folk belief, November 11 marks the middle of the so-called “wolf holidays”: the time between Michaelmas to Christmas when the wolves rage as this period entails the longest nights in the year. For protection, Bulgarians traditionally started to complete all repairs, such as that of fences and to clog all slots in which evil forces could sneak in.
Today is the name day of all Victors, Victorias, Minas, Minkas and Minchos in Bulgaria.
