Avro Manhattan was a nutcase, pure and simple. Aside from a tangle with Mussolini he never risked his life. Also, a check of the online copy of the 1948 index of forbidden books (the last issued – see http://www.cvm.qc.ca/gconti/905/BABEL/Index%20Librorum%20Prohibitorum-1948.htm) shows that his name is missing, which makes this article’s statement “His books were #1 on the Forbidden Index for the past 50 years!!” totally untrue.
