The Theotokos is the Greatest, and Most Majestic Ornament of the Human Race’ – Patriarch Neophyte of Bulgaria

Sofia-Bulgaria: The annual feast of Dormition of the Holy Theotokos was observed on the 15th of August, 2021. Patriarch Neophyte delivered a message on the glorious occasion.

“On the day of the glorious Dormition of the Holy Mother of God, together with the whole Church, we witness the first fruit of Christ’s godly work for our salvation. On this day in Heaven ascends the one that the grave could not fit, for because of its virtuous life it was honored to accommodate the displaced by giving life to the Man of God, thus giving the human share in the great secret of godly humanity”.

The Patriarch further stated that ” the Holy Virgin Mary is the greatest, most majestic ornament of the human race since the very beginning of its existence, for which to this day it continues to be loved with particular tenderness by all of us, receiving from the Church the highest honor ever paid to man. For the same reason, God’s mother is still, and most insistently, our heavenly intercessions before God’s throne: a loving mother of all, and a heavenly All-Kingdom, whose motherly heavenly advocacy God continues to intervene miraculously in our earthly fates, fulfilling countless prayers and prayers offered through her.
