The Romanian Patriarchate expresses solidarity with the Patriarchate of Antioch
10/6/13
While noticing that – from April 22, 2013, when His Eminence Metropolitan PAUL of Aleppo and Alexandretta, from the Greek-Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch and All the East, and His Eminence Metropolitan GREGORIOS YOHANNA IBRAHIM of Aleppo, from the Syrian Patriarchate of Antioch and All the East, were kidnapped while spiritually assisting the Arabic Christian community around the border of Syria – the two bishops were not yet released, the Romanian Orthodox Church expresses its solidarity with the Greek-Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch and All the East and the Syrian Patriarchate of Antioch and All the East, and is praying and hoping for the release of the two hierarchs, as an act of respect for the community of believers that they pastorally care for.
In this respect, the Romanian Patriarchate supports the recent appeal of His Beatitude JOHN X, Greek-Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, for the release of the two bishops, prays and hopes that in this part of the Middle East peace and good-understanding between people of different beliefs and cultures will be restored very soon.
