The Primate of the UOC expresses condolences to the victims in a car accident and relatives of the deceased pilgrims

After the Divine Liturgy on the day of St. John the Baptist in the home church in his residence on the territory of the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, Metropolitan Volodymyr of Kyiv and All Ukraine prayed for the repose of the deceased and for a speedy recovery of the injured in a car crash pilgrims from Russia, who were traveling to Kyiv. The Primate of the UOC also expressed his condolences to the bereaved families.
“We extend our sincere condolences to the bereaved families of pilgrims and to those injured in an automobile accident. At the shrines of the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, we pray for the repose of the dead, remembering that there is no dead in God – in God everyone is alive. We believe in eternal life and believe that the Lord sometimes takes one to himself at a time when he is close to Him and to salvation of his immortal soul. All the fullness of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church raises fervent prayers for the recovery of the victims of the accident and the spiritual quietude of the relatives and friends of the deceased.”
Metropolitan Volodymyr sent his condolences to the Metropolitan Yevseviy of Pskov and the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Ukraine.
