On 10 april, during the second day of the canonical visit to France, His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, consecrated the church dedicated to Saints Cosma and Damian of the Romanian Orthodox parish of Mulhouse city, as George Vâlcu correspondent of Trinitas TV channel at Strasbourg informs us.
Before celebrating the consecration service, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel delivered a sermon in which he presented the spiritual meaning of the consecration of an Orthodox church. After the celebration of the consecration service, His Beatitude offered the Romanian Orthodox parish of Mulhouse a set of holy vessels, a blessing cross and a Bible. The Patriarch of Romania has also awarded parish priest Emil Tanca the Patriarchal Cross for clergy.
The delegate of the Archbishop of Strasbourg for ecumenical dialogue, representatives of the local authorities and many faithful were also present at the event. To end with, the exhibition of photographs of the parish arrangement process was opened.
