The Patriarch of Romania Celebrated at Caraiman Monastery
On 22 July 2012, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel celebrates his birthday. The Primate of the Romanian Orthodox Church celebrates 61 years of life, on which occasion he officiated the Divine Liturgy at the Monastery of the “Exaltation of the Holy Cross” in Busteni resort, county of Prahova.
The celebrating group was made up of His Grace Ciprian Campineanul, Assistant Bishop to the Patriarch, His Grace Varsanufie Prahoveanul, Assistant Bishop to the Archdiocese of Bucharest, as well as of many priests and deacons.
To end with the Divine Liturgy, a Polichronium service was celebrated and His Grace Bishop Ciprian delivered an anniversary speech.
“We have all been together here to say prayers to Good Merciful God together with His Beatitude as thanksgiving and gratitude for the gift of life. But this day with deep significance is a day of remembrance too of the dear parents Alexie and Stela who are no longer with us, but who I am sure are present in spirit near His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel.
It is also a blessed opportunity of reflection and meditation on the years and stages of the life we covered till God called him to the highest service, to the hierarchic dignity in several stages, as Metropolitan of Moldova and Bucovina and finally as Patriarch of his Church in Romania, a mission he understood to accomplish with all his devotion, faithfulness and love for the Romanian righteous people from everywhere”, emphasised His Grace, as Trinitas Radio station informs us.
Hundreds of faithful came to the church to pray and pay homage to His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel on the occasion of his birthday.
The official feast of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel is 30 September, the date of his enthronement as Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church.
