The New Ambassador of Jordan on a Visit to the Romanian Patriarchate

The Press Office of the Romanian Patriarchate informs us:

On 19 September 2012, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel received the visit of introduction of His Excellency Munther S. Qabba’ah, the new Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Romania. Rev. Archimandrite Qais Sadiq, the priest of the Arabian speaking Christian Orthodox community of Bucharest was also present.

His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel pointed out the rich diplomatic experience of Mr. Ambassador and congratulated him at the beginning of his diplomatic mission in our country. The Patriarch of Romania appreciated the climate of good understanding between the religious communities of Jordan and emphasised especially the attitude of the Jordanian authorities who support and promote the pilgrimages the Romanian Patriarchate organises in this country.

Mr. Ambssador Munther S. Qabba’ah thanked for reception and reminded the fact that the Christian population of Jordan (about 10%) live peacefully with the Muslim population in majority and enjoys religious freedom.

In this context, the Patriarch of Romania and the Ambassador of Jordan pointed out the importance of the relations of mutual respect between various peoples and religions for keeping peace and stability in the Middle East.
